Prison Work Crew $58,000 per crew of 10 men Robert Presnell’s recommendation – Do one DOC crew and take the money from reduction in current county inmate crew program
Commissioner Croley requested two crews at a cost of $116,000. Adm instructed to look for the funding source. It could include layoffs or using fund balances. Motion: Croley/Morgan – approve the two inmate crews. Commissioner Morgan requested that information come with staff recommendations. Vote 4 – 0 to approve two inmate crews.
Road in Midway – Commerce Blvd. Cost $100,000 main entrance- it is already in the budget.
Senior Planner $68,000 (salary and benefits) – Mr. Metheney – Hire intern using consultant money. How would it be funded? Not identified.
Emergency Housing Repairs - $40,000 Taylor/Croley approve 3 - 1; Administrator instructed to come back with recommendation
Jail Locks Croley/Taylor carry the $175, 000 in current facilities management budget into the new budget plus $30,000 additional dollars – total cost = $205,000 4-0
Capital Regional Transportation Planning Agency (CRTPA) $5,000 requested Morgan/Croley approve 5 – 0
Opportunity FL Taylor/Croley $4,000 go forward 4-0
Chris Doolin Lobbying Services $25,000 –Taylor wants to go out for bid for this contract.
Small County Coalition $5,000 - in the commissioners budget under professional services
Roads
Croley indicated one change to have considered –Speak to Sheriff Young that BCC wants to move Emergency Management and E911 back to the board. Motion Croley/Morgan – communication be held with Sheriff Young regarding possibly moving EM and E911 back to the board and begin looking into taking that responsibility back. Taylor objected to making this decision at this meeting. 3 – 1 (Taylor)
Mr. Willliams requested one more workshop. Sept 2 at 4:00 p.m.
Maintenance of abandoned cemeteries – Morgan bring some options back on September 2 – requested by West Gadsden Historical Society Authorized by state statutes.
Janitorial services for libraries –
Requested that he receive information at least 3 days ahead of time.
Paving of Allen Ranch Lane in Havana – need an attorney opinion from Ms. Minnis regarding assessments for private road paving.
Communicate promptly with the Sheriff’s office regarding BCC desire to
