First Budget Public Hearing

September 8, 2010

6:00 p.m.

Present:  Chair Eugene Lamb, Vice-Chair Doug Croley, District 3 Commissioner  Gene Morgan,  Attorney Deborah Minnis, Clerk Nicholas Thomas, County Administrator Johnny Williams

   PUBLIC HEARING – County Administrator Johnny Williams announced the opening of the First Public Hearing for Adoption of the Tentative Millage Rate and Tentative Budget for FY 2010/2011

  Croley Proposed one adjustment – Move $5,000 from Chamber of Commerce  Economic Development to the Art Center Economic Development .  They must meet the same reporting guidelines as the Chamber.  Pay Quarterly and monitor the reports quarterly. 

Croley/Morgan   3 – 0 approve

 

  Cleaning of the Libraries -  Johnny Williams reported that they need another custodian to hit all three libraries in the afternoon.  Cost would be approximately $28,000.  Morgan suggested to go out for RFP for private services.   Croley suggested take $10,000 from Emergency Services (debris management) and move into janitorial facilities line item for library custodial services.  Croley motioned /Morgan seconded.   Leave the line item in place for the emergency services    Vote was  3 – 0.

 

Kimsey Helms questioned the millage rate.

Motion:  Adopt Millage as above:  Croley/Morgan 3 – 0 

Adoption of the Tentative FY 2010/2011 Countywide Budget

Motion:  Adopt Tentative Budget as stated above.  Morgan/Croley  3 – 0.  

 

Direct staff to Advertise, in Accordance with the Florida Statutes, the Tentative Millage Rate and Budget for FY 2010/2011 and the Date, Time and Place of the Public Hearing to Adopt the Final Millage Rate and Budget for FY 2010/2011
