Meeting Called to Order:

Approval of June 2013 Minutes: Minutes were approved

 

 

Old Business:

Joseph Jones 001-2013 – (Powell) Property owners want County to tear down. We passed for 30days.

Alice Cox 002-2013 – No change or response. Not complying with order.

Quin 005-2013– Continued for 60 days

Campos 06-2013 – Nothing changed. (He later appeared for court.)

Kyllonen 007-2013 – (Sellars) Letters came back; placed notice on property; non-registered letters never came back.

Blair 008-2013 – No change; sent registered letters all came back; posted property with notice to appear. No correspondence.

Mr. Sellers commented on the Marriott case which is a junk yard on Hwy 90;

They (owners) signed for notice to appear. Fabric on fence needs to be

removed and they need to continue cleaning up (vehicles & auto

components) junk yard.

 

Judge Parsons enter order to get property cleaned.

Mr. Sellers commented on the Germany property. He said Sondra Germany is the owner on record; Dawkins Junkyard the fence is covering; vehicles need to be removed. She has been noticed.

 

Judge Parsons commented he thought it was heir property; I don’t think she is the sole owner. Order to Sondra Germany to remove vehicles from around house.

Mr. Powell said that Mr. Campos is now present. Running illegal junk yard.   

Can’t operate commercial property. You have zoning issues.

 

Maria Hernandez (Interpreter) explained he can’t operate. He asked could he having zoning. He will go to Planning and Zoning Department. He said he is only fixing his own cars. He said he is not running a business.

 

Debbie advised he can’t fix vehicles it’s not zoned property. Can’t operate business in residential.

 

Mr. Sellers said this problem has been going on since 09. “Those aren’t his  vehicles.”

 

Judge Parsons ordered Mr. Campos to remove all vehicles from the property & along with junk, except the one he drives. Will do written order within 30 days. He can keep his own vehicles. He asked that he give a current address.

     Mr. Powell commented Mr. Strong has requested to speak to Judge; old  

    mobile home in Havana. Not present.

 

    Judge Parson passed for 30 days.

Mr. Powell said Mrs. Strong is owner of the property.

 

Mrs. Strong said they are using the property as a storage.

 

Judge Parsons explained it must be brought up to Code.

 

Mr. Powell told Mrs. Strong to come into Building Inspection Department with    

Engineer, he said. You don’t want anyone to get hurt. He asked about fencing

of the building along with signs. He asked that it is boarding up.

 

Debbie advised her to go to the town of Havana and see if zoning is proper  

before you get building permit.

 

Judge Parsons continued for 30 days; make sure property is secured by signs of  

no trespassing and board it up. Get with City of Havana.

Mr. Powell commented on this case he received phone call from a family member that lives out of town. Asked for continuance.
