1. Welcome – Chairman Eric Hinson. He allowed everyone present to introduce themselves and it was recorded above.
State Attorney’s Office was excused.
2. Approval of Minutes – August 2, 2013 Susan Wilson/ Nina Moody

3. Facilities Management – Jail Update
Clyde Collins gave update on facilities at the jail. Air Handlers is next big project for the jai.
Mr. Presnell said there were no outstanding issues with the jail.
Major Wood spoke of the improvements to the jail. Complimented the work and staff for improving Security System and Booking desk. Glad the County took the time to do the improvements.
Chair Hinson complemented all involved.
4. Work Program Update
Martha Chancey gave update of the Work Program. (Monday – Thursday 7-3pm) (Friday 8-4) Man hours worked since program start 1784. Labor Savings $17,480. She said she needs more participants to keep program working. First Saturday August 9, they will begin Saturdays. This program helps with jail overcrowding.
Major Wood asked how could get the numbers up?
Nina Moody said it would take getting the Judges more involved. She suggested getting Judge Hobbs involved.
Major Wood asked how traffic ticket infractions could benefit from this program if they are not able to pay.
Nina Moody said it takes getting all parties involved. She suggested they talk to State Attorney Willie Meggs.
May Andrews ask that she be copied when dealing with probation officers concerning request, so she can follow up.

Major Shawn Wood questioned process of electing a Vice –Chair
Arthur Lawson /May Andrews –approved Major Wood as Vice –Chair
Major Barkley gave update of Jail. He said they currently run about 54 over. He spoke of all updates of the Jail. He thanked the Commission for all they have done.
Major Wood asked for direction for the Council. He said he would like all departments to give updates.
Consensus on meeting times, to meet 2X a year for now.

Major Barkley – Chair on Reentry Programs
