  Chair called meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

Commissioner Taylor appeared at this juncture of the meeting.

CLERK OF COURT

  Mr. Thomas spoke to the Commissioners and gave an update of the Gas Tax refunding and then spoke regarding EMS.  Still $69,000 negative cash and may need to be fixed.

PUBLIC HEARING-Ordinance No. 2015-006 to Address Special Exception Uses (SEU) in the Gadsden County Land Development Code

  Mr. Presnell introduced the above item.

 

Chair stated before public input, have discussion first so public would know what about.

 

Allara Gutcher, Planning & Community Development Director, appeared before the Board to better explain Ordinance.

 

Dr. V said for clarity, defining perimeter to better define.

 

Chair asked if public had any comments.

Approval to Accept the FY2015 2nd Quarter Report

  Mr. Presnell introduced item.

 

Morgan had question regarding line item regarding contingency.

 

Jeff Price appeared before the Board to address questions Commissioners had.

Update On Various Board Requests

  ED Workshop-May 19th @ 4:00  if want retreat prior, can schedule first

 

Taylor said real deliverables not in place in contract

 

Taylor allow manager to set meeting to have dialogue starting at 4:00 on 19th /V  5-0

 

Reminded them of Summer Youth Employment-went through process-each commissioner gets selection of 5 youth and asked that they get that wrapped up.  Hinson asked how advertised because some youth said had not heard about it.  Presnell said ads ran in papers, notice sent to schools, cities, on website and had 310 applications.  Dr. V asked if 5 youth that commissioners recommend if had to go through application process or could commissioners appoint-cut-off date was April 30th.  Morgan said was publically advertised, how can it be changed after the fact.  So now saying Commissioners can pick and choose of their choice.  V said his understanding was each commissioner pick 5 and did not have to fill application out.

Dr. V said had been contacted by 2 municipalities regarding replacements

Hinson asked for update regarding Havana Heights-Attorney stated sent letter and waiting for response

 

Holt asked if county right-of-way-yes

 

Dr. V said one side City and one side County

Report and Discussion of Public Issues and Concerns Pertaining to Commission Districts and Gadsden County

 

 

Commissioner Gene Morgan, District 3

   Nothing

 

Commissioner Sherrie Taylor, District 5

   Said Commissioners were to give names for Senior Citizens appointees-need to do that because starting to lose members

 

Commissioner Hinson left the meeting at this juncture.

 

Formal letter would be nice on County letterhead.
