1. Pledge of Allegiance/Roll Call

Keith Dowdell, Vice -Chairman of TDC called the meeting to order at 3:30 p.m. with a quorum present and then led in the Pledge of Allegiance.  The deputy clerk led in roll call of the Council.

2. Amendments to and Approval of the Agenda – Ford/Munroe 6-0

There were no amendments to the agenda.

3. General Business

a. Approval of Minutes (August) Holton/DuBree 6-0

b. FBN High School Qualifier – Fishing Tournament  Mr. DuBree Ingram 35-rooms and they have 10 rooms Munroe/Holton 6-0 for $1,000

c. Events Committee Review Report   Sonya Burns Ford/Holt 6-0 pass (made on July 7, 2016 Recommendations)

d. 78 Madison Task Orders for October and November   DuBree/Munroe 6-0

e. Governor’s Conference on Tourism Update Each of the Commissioners gave an update on the Governor’s Conference. (Munroe, DuBree, Dowdell) Questions posed by Commissioners. Advertise Gadsden more. (Video shared by Sonja on tourism from Dowdell.) DuBree -They go out and get pictures and you have them.

4. Items of discussion from Council members (no vote items) Ford – Commented on Joe may not understand the culture make up of Gadsden County.  Have a festival and make it regional.

 Munroe – said if he could add to that, roll some festivals into and have a month long activities.   Holt – form a sub-committee to come up with some type of festival. (add to the next agenda) Dowdell said that can be a tourist sponsored event.

Sonya – will have a draft copy of the Strategic Plan at the Oct. 17, 2017 meeting. Update on the Bike Night she said she worked as the welcoming committee t-shirts, etc.
