CALL TO ORDER, INVOCATION, PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

  Commissioner Viegbesie called the meeting to order at 5pm. Then he led the invocation and pledge of allegiance

 

CITIZENS REQUESTING TO BE HEARD (3-Minute Limit)

Due to COVID-19 and the efforts of the Gadsden County Board of County Commissioners to continue the practice of social distancing, Commissioners want to continue to hear from citizens under the Citizens Requesting to be Heard section of the agenda.

If citizens have any questions, comments, or concerns, please email CitizensToBeHeard@gadsdencountyfl.gov and anticipate receiving a response within 48 hours.

The Board of County Commissioners would like to thank everyone for their patience and flexibility during this time.

GENERAL BUSINESS

Approval of Approval of Federal Legislative Community Projects Request to be Submitted for Gadsden County (Edward J. Dixon, County Administrator)

   Dixon introduced the agenda item. Ms. Dilworth is coming before to make comments.

   PIO stated that she was not available via zoom.  

A.  City of Midway, Florida (Septic to Sewer Project)

      Motion Hinson/V

  Dixon stated that in 2015 city of midway did a study for sewer system. This is for growth. 40million dollars

        Hinson stated that this motion is for item a and b.

 Motion passed 5-0

B.  City of Midway, Florida (Expansion of Eugene Lamb, Jr. Recreation Center for COVID and Emergency Preparedness)

  Dixon stated use the community center for emergency preparedness. The total is 3

C.  City of Quincy, Florida (The Quincy North Star Legacy Communities-Women Entrepreneurship Project)

  Mr. Charles Hayes stated that this program will help women to help.

   Dixon stated a point of order. Ribbon cutting at Hutchinson ferry. Right in front of the country club. Speeding to closing projects.

 

  Hinson asked if anyone responded to the email from FCI.

Dixon stated that we didn’t respond and that FCI is scheduled for the next agenda.

  chair asked what the workshop is about before the next regular meeting.

Dixon stated Tech and Granicus.

Hinson is there a way to have a workshop on broadband.

Chair asked is there anyway to squeeze it in.

 

 

   Knowles said its reasonable notice. At least by 24-48 hours.

Hinson we need time to discuss. Just killing at one time.

Dixon set the time for 6 pm.
