Discussion and Direction of Petition Hearing Baptiste stated prepared packet that represents potential decision, could be modified. Chrissy appeared 10:09 A.M. Mentioned Farr’s property. Stated their issue was financial. Home bought at $300k Just value at $190,000 Opened floor to discussion NeSmith stated it was thoroughly assessed. Stated Chrissy Shorter gave clarification on sq footage. Chrissy agreed with decision to deny. Should have been resolved before getting to Board. Remorse should not play a factor. Motion to deny NeSmith/ Chrissy 5-0 Baptiste mentioned Holland Ware Foundation Just value $48k, Petitioner not present at last meeting Property was appraised to have a home on it, demolition could not happen until April. Tax payer objected, home was not there in April, should not be counted. As of Jan. 1, home is still there so property has to be appraised as if a home was there. Second issue was that the value increased because wanted it treated as ag property. Recommend to deny from Baptiste Motion to deny Chrissy/ NeSmith 5-0 3RD petition under Holland Ware at 3996 Bristol Highway. Petition not present at hearing and did not submit evidence. Recommend that the Board find that the property appraiser correctly valued the property at $41,881 Baptiste stated Holland Ware third largest land owner Motion to deny Chrissy/ NeSmith 5-0 Next petition, still under Holland Ware Petitioner did not submit evidence increase in taxes. The taxpayer agreed to withdraw, but never received the form. Property reclassified as 60 acres of swamp, 5.5 acres of timber 3, 84.6 acres of timber 2 Rec to deny, prop appraiser followed DOR audit when classifying property. Motion to deny Chrissy/ Young 5-0 Went to next petition, under Holland Ware Said was error, 563 acres but was 536 acres. Corrected TRIM Notice Prop App corrected error Motion to deny Chrissy/ Johnson 5-0 Last petition, Holland Ware Property was previously classified as 257 acres of swamp and 467 acres of timber 3 After DOR Aduit, Determined 82 acres of swamp and 500 acres of timber 3 and 57 acres of timber 2 Rec to deny petition bc DOR audit reclassified the property.
