INTRODUCTIONS

  Everyone introduced themselves 

REVIEW COMPREHENSIVE PLAN – HOUSING ELEMENTS, HOUSING INCENTIVES, GRANT FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES – CDBG 

  Stallworth stated next is reviewing comprehensive plan.

  Stallworth asked for overview

  Burns gave overview of housing elements

  Stallworth asked if have marketing strategy

  Burns stated yes, all info is on website

  Holt stated any of those funds would be accessible to anyone in the county   

   Burns stated yes

  Holt asked if could get more marketing on some items

  Stallworth asked when will this be presented to BOCC

 Burns stated second meeting of Feb 

 Watkins stated would like to make motion for workshop and to move it to March/ Holt 5-0

 Holt asked if the other ppl have been selected

 Jones stated some ideas she had were doing a parade of homes?  Another idea she had was

 Stallworth stated would like to see education

  Burns stated does offer education classes

  Holt mentioned summer youth, will push forward for them to go learn 

   Stallworth asked about banking institution being on Board

Burns stated what Jones mentioned are incentives.

  Burns stated will offer financial literacy and land ownership

Holt stated has requested more ppl in that department, need minority preference and local preference.

  Burns mentioned grant funding opportunities.

 Burns stated March 5 is BOCC Meeting, need to have info in with Ms. Rogers by Feb 5.

 Next scheduled meeting, Chair asked about March 7

  Next scheduled meeting March 7 at 4 pm. 

  Burns mentioned the single-family home repair loans and grants, program by USDA. Increased to $40,000, trying to get word out to apply bc money is available. Anyone can apply. It is a grant, not a loan. Applications available in office and can mail them.
