2.     Proposal For A Diabetes Specialty Clinic in Gadsden County - Dr. Celeste Hart

Chair McMillan discussed the Diabetes Specialty Clinic.

Attorney Glazer, said this Board does not have to take special action. He gave history on Dr. Hart. She wants a ½ day clinic, In her proposal it is silent on who would pay for the space(Old Urgent Care Space). He said it would need serious cleaning, it has been vacant for the last 6 years. She will need internet, wifi. She will need a social worker to help patients get resources.

He said he and Mr. Lawson will submit to the BOCC on next Tuesday. He said there is a series of question. Is there an fiscal impact on the County. He suggested they come up with a recommendation on whether the county should explore. The other piece is the other space, CRH has the right of 1st approval. CRMC has been made aware. Steve Gorner they have not talk to her and would like to talk her. They do have the refurbished space that currently the doctors used.

   Mr. Dudley asked what say does the County say. If she wanted to deal

  As long as Dr. Hart is a medicad provider.

  Mr. Dudley asked was the space being used full-time.

  Mr. Steve said Dr. Hart would like Saturday mornings and we have no lease on Saturday mornings.

  Mr. Dudley would like to encourage the County and CRMC

  Mr. Sheheane asked would she be prohibited. She would need to privileged to work with CRMC.

  Hercule said he had a discussion with her. She wants to come to the rural county. He said anyone that wants to com

  Steve said Dr. Hart said her outpatient is very busy. She seemed open to alignment with CRMC.

  McMillan we are encouraging the conversation to continue. The issue will be some level of privilege.

  Glazer, said County

  Graham discussed fiscal responsibility. Only a ½ doctor

  Glazer said this is the first real proposal that we have had in 6 years. He said he thinks it will be much more of a demand. He said most Dr’s. are  afraid to commit.

  Hercules asked was this a service CRMC where they can commit.

  Dudley encourage tenant to try and work something out. Other side Plan B. They want a recommendation.

Hercules it would be helpful for her to come to Quincy.  

  Shehane have her work with CRMC to work with the space.

  Dudley/ Graham (recommendation)to try to encourage Hospital for her to use existing space/ Outpatient space and if not she if they can use urgent care space. 6-0

  McMillan this would be first step.

  Sheheane asked about formal.

  

  Concerns with Indigent care

  timeshare- she understands context very well.
